The book has been published under the title, Allama Mashriqi & Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan: Two Legends of Pakistan and was launched in New York, USA on October 25, 2003. The author, Mr. Nasim Yousaf, is a grandson of Mashriqi and a nephew of Dr. Khan. He spent over seven years (of long hours) conducting research for his book. In addition, as a member of the family, his knowledge of these stalwarts makes this book the most authentic biography that has ever been published on these two giant personalities of Pakistan.

On this occasion, a simple ceremony was held at the residence of Mr. Yousaf and professionals from various backgrounds attended the ceremony. The ceremony was kept simple on purpose, maintaining the traditions set by Allama Mashriqi and Dr. Khan who both led simple lives. The speakers, enlightened the audience about the book and the life and times of Allama Mashriqi and Dr. Khan. The author’s views were also read on the occasion. Summary of the book, Allama Mashriqi & Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan: Two Legends of Pakistan:
Allama Mashriqi was an eminent mathematician and scientist and a renowned scholar who broke records at Punjab and Cambridge Universities. The first part of this book is an eye opener, as Mashriqi’s grandson reveals facts from Pakistan’s history that are unknown to many.

Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan was a scholar, a world-renowned social scientist, and the founding father of the Pakistan Academy for Rural Development (Now Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development) and the Orangi Pilot Project in Karachi. Author’s Demands:
The Author made a declaration at the ceremony that he is sending this book to the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan so that they can read about the life and times of Mashriqi and let the nation know of the role of our heroes in the independence movement. He is also taking this opportunity to remind them of the long outstanding demands of Mashriqi’s family, his supporters, and the Khaksars to establish the following without much loss of time.

1) Ichhra, where Mashriqi started his movement in 1930, should be renamed after him and a monument should be built at his grave. Punjab University should be named after Allama Mashriqi.
2) A research academy should be formed to conduct complete research on Mashriqi and his Khaksar Movement.
3) All Khaksar materials should be collected from the public, government departments, the India Office (U.K.), and historical resources in India. Material on the Khaksar Tehrik should be made accessible for everyone.
4) A monument should be erected in Lahore at the site of the massacre of March 19, 1940.
5) National media should be unbiased toward Mashriqi’s role in the independence movement. Television and radio media should allocate special time to explain the life & times of Mashriqi.
6) Mashriqi's life and times should be made known to the public. Funds for making a film on his life should be allocated.
7) An official biography should be published. Annual seminars should be held on Mashriqi’s life and times.

The author further says that the purpose of sending this book to the head of the state and government and politicians is to remind them that whomever and wherever we are today, that is because of people like Mashriqi and the Khaksars, who came together to liberate India from foreign rule. So we must not forget the heroes of our nation. Those nations that forget their champions and martyrs are doomed.

The author also put forth the following demands for Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan:

1) Orangi Town, Karachi.should be named after Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan.
